procrastinating...

Today I dropped my car off to get a bit of body work done (oops) and walked home rather than renting a car. Well now I'm trapped at home and I don't think I can put if off any longer....cleaning the craft area!

It looks worse than it truly is (I hope) because I sold the cabinet that I kept the stamps in which is why they're piled in a chair. I've got a bookcase coming from the second floor, so I guess I better get that down to the basement and get started!

On the upside, once I re-organize my supplies and find the top of the table I should have something to share. But if you don't hear from me, just assumed I've been lost in the mess.....

Unscripted ColourQ

Thanks so Unscripted Sketches and Arielle's ColourQ challenge I've finally got something to share.

I enjoyed the sketch, even though all the pictures I had in my head just wouldn't fit into those little squares. Maybe I'll redo it this week with something else I was imagining.

I hope you find time to head over and check out the rest of the DT work and our top 3. So many great entries to choose from last week! And after you play along this week head back on Thursday July 1st for the beginning of Christmas in July. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....not really, but it's 31 days of Unscripted fun!!! Check out a bit more about it HERE and HERE but find out all the detail by heading to Unscripted Sketches later in the week.

For now I'm off to the driveway because I'm having a yard sale. Got to clean the basement so I can clean up the stamps and get creating more often. See you soon(er than next weekend)!

Christmas in July

Like the song says, "It's the most wonderful time of the year...." I do believe that about Christmas. But I'm also one of those crazy people that thinks that in July when Hallmark puts their ornaments out and sometimes I have a Christmas gift swap with some friends. It's the BEST! So, please join Unscripted Sketches this July in celebrating:

Something new EVERYDAY! And not just sketches, but some fun stuff and stuff to get the mojo going again. Head over now to pick out some songs for BINGO and maybe you'll win something.

Unscripted black and white

One more day, one more day...I think I'll be thinking that all weekend. Even though techinically I have two days of school left, only one more with the kids. The end is in sight! I'm looking forward to relaxing a bit next week and hopefully starting to create again.

For now, I was able to make something for this week's Unscripted Sketch. Since it is the third Saturday of the month there is also a piggyback challenge: use black and white in honor of National Eat Oreo day. Yum! That kinda stumped me so I threw in green galore (my final scraps, sniff) in honor of double stuffed mint oreos and here is what I came up with:

This is also for the PPA theme challenge, summer. I've had a wedding each summer for the last six years and this year is no exception. I was going to make the panel say birds to go with the cuttlebug embossed background, but my cursive just wasn't cutting it. Always I can handle.

I hope you find time to play along with Unscripted Sketches this week, so head over to check out the rest of the DT inspiration and last week's top 3!

Unscripted and a Winner!

Boy am I glad it's Saturday! The end of the school year (and all the children in the class) have been kicking my butt and I'm just exhausted these days. 11 school days left and then I can play and be crafty WAY more often! Today I'm off to a bridal shower so I used this week's Unscripted Sketch to make a card for the bride...

I bought her a breadmaker (yummy!) and wanted to give her my favorite bread recipe for Anadama Bread, a cornmeal and molasses bread. I've never made it in a breadmaker but I'm sure it's just as delicious. So the navy ribbon goes around to the inside to hold a little pocket I created for the recipe card. The colors are her wedding colors from the save-the-date and invitation.
As for the blog candy winner from the challenge I set last week for the OWH blog hop, lucky number 3 Susan G was the winner. Shoot me an e-mail Susan and I'll get your candy out to you so you can make some more beautiful cards!
Hope you'll head over to Unscripted Sketches to see the DT's beautiful work (in a slightly new format) and play along yourself. Happy weekend!
