Happy Birthday Heroes!

Has the party started yet? I've combined this week's Unscripted Sketch with a birthday card for Cards for Heroes. They are having a big party this weekend to celebrate some big news. So I made a card to send to a hero...

Using up scraps to clean up my table I was able to put this together quickly. With school taking most of my time up that was necessary!!! Rather than just sending this blank card with the many that I'm packing up today, I'll write this one out so a hero gets something special on his or her birthday. Last year I complained about having to work on my birthday (It normally falls on vacation--it was a first for me) but these heroes may be a world away from their family and working hard despite a birthday.

So head on over to Unscripted Sketches and get some more great inspiration from the DT. Then maybe you can make a card for a hero too!

Smiles,

  4. Very cute! I just signed up for the to follow the Hero cards. Do you send just the card, or the care and envelope? How many do you send at one time? Do you write in one card and send the others for the heroes to use? I am having a hard time today because of a headache. My brain feels fried from this week at school. It got very hot on Friday and I lost my keys somewhere in my classroom. So now I can't go in this weekend. I brought a lot home but now I am going to make some cards first. Oh yea we only had four days. I am afraid to see how I am going to feel next Sat.

  11. I love the idea of sending cards to the heroes of our country. That's wonderful! They need to know that people care about them and what they are doing.
We have a yarn ministry at our church and are planing on sending pocket prayer to them in the form of little decorated crocheted squares.
