Mojo Wednesday!

I can't even think of the last time I completed a Mojo Monday card, but this week was a first. And you'll have to trust me that I finished it on a Monday too, I just wanted to save it to have something to share later in the week....that and it's for a birthday girl who is celebrating today. Happy Birthday to my fellow Unscripted sketcher, April!

This card came together amazingly quickly for me...under 20 minutes! I had the patterned paper and embossed piece sitting out, a scrap of Rose Red from making some valentines and then I put together the oval piece. Wow, I have amazed myself.....I'm not thrilled with the sentiment (kinda lost there) but I just sat and stared for a few minutes and it didn't fix itself. So this is what it is.... My favorite bit is the green ribbon picking up the bit of Green Galore in the stems, which I colored with my Stampin' write marker. Wish I had THAT in every color!

Five straight days of posting, wow! Have you had enough of me yet? It's my stress relief from school, so I anticipate more in the future....

Ahhhhhh

Oh it feels SOOOOOOO good to return to making a card for a challenge for FUN!!! I can't even remember the last time I just went down to the basement and had fun creating, feeling no pressure to complete something. Perhaps that's why it came together easily.

I managed to make this card for a couple challenges. I started with a sketch from CPS, took the beautiful colors from the Curtain Call Color Challenge and went for a birthday card: 1, because it's Crazy4Challenges challenge this week and 2, because I don't have ANY left in my house. If I had tried to do 3 challenges at once I would've failed, it's amazing what just having fun can do.

I was inspired to ink up the edges of the vanilla with a bit of chocolate and the pink with a bit of red thanks to a BEAUTIFUL card I received in the mail today from my dear friend Patti. Yay for mail that isn't bills! The picture doesn't do it justice, it's absolutely fabulous, as is my favorite Cardinals fan. Head over to her blog, Cherish Each Precious Day you won't be disappointed!

So far the New Year's resolutions have been going fairly well, how about you? The house is slowly getting cleaned up, I've been to the gym 7 times so far, and I'm even getting my classroom a bit organized. The craft area is another story, but Rome wasn't built in a day. For now it's off to bed so that I can be a bright eyed, cheery teacher for the munchkins in the morning!

On your birthday

Good morning! It's an amazingly beautiful morning here in NH, and though I'll take advantage a bit and do some things around the yard I'm hoping to find time to head to the basement and create a bit. First a card for Unscripted Sketches to share today:

I loved this sketch and since we encourage everyone to flip it, rotate it and make it your own, I turned it and it came together on it's own. Don't you love when that happens? Check out what the rest of the DT created this week and then head to Unscripted Sketches to play along yourself. Have a fabulous weekend!

Happy Birthday Stacey!

I had my Mojo Monday done yesterday but taking pictures of cards in the wind doesn't work. So it had to wait. Still not a great picture, but I've run out of patience as the wind has again picked up. This is also a birthday card for Stacey--be sure to check out her blog candy.

I don't even know how I got to this end point, and I started with completely different colors. Funny how that happens. For now here's to another productive day, and I hope to have more to share later today or tomorrow!

I've got......

Mail!!!!
When I came home from work today I found this sweet birthday card from Susan in the mailbox! We seem to not get much more than bills and fliers so it was a very nice surprise. I remember seeing it on her blog HERE and thinking it was amazing.....lucky me! Thanks so much Susan!

Happy 2nd Birthday Carter!

Welcome to my second Unscripted Sketch. Jenny and Sharon have another great sketch for us:

After 3 unfinished attempts, I learned that less is more. Here's my take on the sketch:
Last week was my nephew's second birthday and today we'll be at his birthday party. Though I could have made him a card that coordinated with the Thomas invitations and thank yous I made, I decided Bold Brights were the way to go. That way I could color the candles with Crayolas! My DH thought "Look who's turning 11 first" but either way I don't think Carter will mind. :-)
Be sure to go over the the Unscripted Sketch blog to play along, and check out all the other DT members inspiration.
I can't wait to see what you create!

Only one mother....and one MIL

Tomorrow we're celebrating my MILs birthday and we needed a card. Until now, I've been making all my cards, but when birthdays for family roll around I head to the store. I decided to opt out of the usual Hallmark and see what these hands could do. Thanks to some quotes I found at The Quote Garden my card came together quite easily.

Just find a font you like and do a bit of formatting. I even printed a message inside. Normally I make 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 cards, but this a full size card: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

I know all she wants is to spend time together, but a card with a sweet message is nice too. And DH told me it's BETTER than the usual Hallmark. Just don't tell my boss (or the customers)when I head to that second job tomorrow!

Smiles,
