One small kiss...

Happy Saturday morning and welcome to another Sketch it Saturday from Unscripted Sketches!

I had a magnet on my fridge with all the important numbers I may need to contact my insurance company. At the end of summer we're switching insurance so I decided to take that blah magnet and dress it up to be functional.

I'm loving my new set of Kids Quotes and can picture creating a few more magnets with them.
**Edited to add: The Kids Quote set came from AC Moore. I'd admired it in the stamp aisle a few times and happened upon it in the SALE aisle at the back of the store...nowhere near the stamps! It was meant to be and only $4.99.
This one measures 2 1/4" x 3 3/4" and I love that it is both decorative and functional. I hope you find time to take today's sketch and create something great with it. Be sure to check out all the rest of the DT's great work by clicking on their names on my sidebar.

yellow gingham

I was floored yesterday to see that Libby though my Pile it On card was her favorite!!! I was so excited that I had to play along with From Courtney's Closet #48, which was actually Courtney's playdate. It's a bright cheery card just like the bright cheery day we had yesterday, and are having today!

In honor of Maria I knew I needed to include some gingham on my card. Yellow was the only color I could find in my stash which went with the beautiful colors in her daughters dress. I also copied Maria's ribbon a bit from the card she made, adding a button beneath the bow. What do you think?

Be sure to check back tomorrow morning for another Unscripted Sketch!

Fun to Grow Up

Rain, rain GO AWAY!!! I know we had three days of sun but I can't take any more rain so I feel it's my right to complain! Stuck in on a gray, rainy day I went crazy with my card making. I discovered Pile it On early last week but forgot where I found it. Luckily Dalis played along with this week's Unscripted Sketch and I found the challenge once more.

The whole idea behind Pile It On's challenge is to complete their challenge and combine it with other challenges. Not as easy as it sounds by here's what I did:

Pile it On! use 3 or more embelishments (I used ribbon, buttons, twine)

Our Creative Corner - red, white and blue

Sweet Stop Sketch Saturday - this week's sketch is found here

Created by Courtney challenge - use buttons

From Courtney's Closet 47 - inspiration from Libby's adorable daughter's outfit. So cute!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - cut it out, pop it up (I did with the words TV and cookies)

High Hopes Challenge 38 - use polka dots (paper and ribbon)

I'm pretty sure that's all, though I know there are more challenges to use red, white and blue. But I think that's enough! For now I need to turn the computer off because I'm hearing thunder and I think I just saw some lightning. YIKES!

Smiles,

Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Brocade Blue

Ink: Real Red, Brocade Blue, Chocolate Chip, Black Stazon

Stamp: Inkadinkado Kid's Quotes, SU On Your Birthday

Other: ribbon, glue dots, cuttlebug, buttons, twine

Mojo Monday courtesy of RAK

Yay for summer vacation and getting to make a Mojo Monday card on a MONDAY! I'm also smiling for the sun that is shining down brightly for the third day in a row.

I was able to make my card thanks to some RAK I recently received. Susan sent me a few fences punched out with her Martha Stewart punch after I saw this card. I've always loved picket fences, but can't imagine weedwacking around it every week! The flowers actually came from Susan too, in blog candy I won this winter. I got this fabulous sentiment from LeAnne which she used on this card, way back in May. It's stamped beautifully but I guess in the case of picture taking today, the sun is my enemy. Perhaps I'll fix it later. The white background piece was the back of a wedding shower invitation that I stuck away knowing it would come to good use. I just love recycling!

Well I'm off to my mom's for a bit to do laundry...hope this is the start of a week full of stampin, leading up to my washing machine arriving on Friday!

Smiles,

Paper: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, unknown green, unknown pink

Ink: Black, Green Galore

Stamps: retired SU - fern

Other: ribbon, Michael's gemstone, RAK!
