World Card Making Day blog hop

Welcome to the Unscripted Sketches blog hop for World Card Making Day! You should have arrived here from Beth. There's lots of cards and candy along the way, so start at the top of the hop by clicking on the banner above.

A few weeks ago I missed out on this Unscripted sketch so today is my chance to play catch up. Of course I've had Let it Snow stuck in my head ever since!
I went a little brad crazy on this one, but it was nice to use up a scrap of ribbon (from xmas cards made with my mom 5+ years ago) and the snowman face that I pulled off a peppermint patty a few years ago. I knew I'd use them someday!

With school, work at my second job, and being on the negotiation team with my teacher's union I've had little to no time for making cards. A few weeks ago I created an assembly line in a basket with a simple layout and a fun stamp set given to me by a coworker at my last school. So now at night when I'm relaxing on the couch I can put together 6-10 cards like the one below. It's also a great chance to use up scraps of ribbon for the bow.

I found the sentiment at Michael's recently. They had an endcap full of clear stamps, sold individually, each for $1.49. What a deal! All of the cards I made like this are headed overseas thanks to Operation Write Home (formerly Cards for Heroes). Leave a comment here with some love and I'll pick a winner (US only please--Edited to say: Okay, I'll send anywhere, it is WORLD card making day after all!) to get some fun card making candy...I'll pick the winner sometime after 6pm Sunday evening. If you're a follower I'll enter your name TWICE!

Now head on over to Dawn to continue on the hop. Hope you find time to make some cards today, and think about sending a few to our heroes too!

Smiles,

  21. I can definitely understand how life gets in the way and sometimes for awhile, which leaves you no time to get crafty.

I think using extensive brads are totally in right now so you are one hip girl! LOL
