I'm baaaaack.....

Wow, I'm a bad blogger, not a post in months. You know it's bad when your brother asks if you've abandoned the blog. Since I'm snowed in today with this crazy blizzard of 2010 it's time to get back into blogging. I'm also done classes for almost a month so that means more free time after school and on weekends to keep up with things!

I haven't abandoned crafts, just the blog. In Aguust or September I crocheted a baby blanket for my new baby cousin Ally.

I of course had to make a tag with wash instructions!

And I also included my favorite baby gift, a tag blanket. They whip up quick after trimming some fleece fabric and pinning the ribbons.

Since I'm snowed in, on vacation, and not motivated to do things I should be doing, today is going to be a crafty day! So I will be sure to share something else soon. I'm big on sewing right now and can't wait to share a project I made for Christmas presents. But first I want to make one for myself! And before that I'm off to visit blogs...haven't done that since at least August, sorry!

Belated Unscripted

Here's my project for Unscripted Sketches this week...only a FEW days late! My computer is not always working so well and crashed completely over the weekend. Even now I'm running on borrowed time......

I found out last week that my cousin is having a GIRL! So finally I can make cute pink and purple and frilly baby items!!!

Hopefully the computer will cooperate and I'll be back soon....but cross your fingers just incase!

Miracle of all Creation

This week Unscripted Sketches has another great sketch designed by Liz :

I took it quite literally and ran with the colors from this week's ColourQ....boy are they bright! Bright, but perfect for my friend who is having a baby in May. I may use this for the shower (they don't know what they're having) or save it incase it's a girl.

I've got tons of boy baby cards in my stash (from many designs created for my nephews) but no girl ones. I'm trying to keep more cards on hand rather than making them at the last second. We'll see how that goes!

I've shoveled and am eating breakfast, then it's off to work for me. Hope you find time to play along with Unscripted Sketches this week....we were AMAZED with all the creativity that came out last week, here's to another great week!

Red, White & Blue

In honor of this Memorial Day weekend I have three cards to share, all using red white and blue.

The first card is for the Stamp Simply challenge to use these colors, but not necessarily a patriotic theme. Recently I've been coming up with sample anouncement cards for my nephew (who will be here in August) and this was a possibility. It's not the one my SIL chose, but will make a great baby card to add to the stash.

I saw the sailboat idea on Mary's blog HERE, and again on Patti's blog HERE. Be sure to go check out their work, they both are inspirations for me!

I also thought I'd create a patriotic themed card to send to Card for Heroes as a hero card, in addition to some others I'm sending for soldiers to use themselves. I found this bit of ribbon and figured I could use it to make two cards. I also used up some stars that I had cut out (using my Big Kick) for my dad's retirement scrapbook.

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend and take time to remember all those who serve so we can be free, and those who have died for that freedom.

Friday Mojo

After a long week I finally got the mojo flowing and made a card last night, based on this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

It was a great sketch to work with and I love the result. I didn't stamp anything on the inside so it could be for a shower or to welcome a new baby to the world. I've got a few of those coming up! I'm off to school now (last day before vacation--teachers rejoice) so I'll edit for details later. Happy Friday!
