Vacation mojo

Finally, vacation has arrived!!! Of course I was in my classroom, but not early and all by myself so that counts as vacation to me. And I finally got to play along with the Mojo Monday sketch for the first time in a few weeks.

I didn't know what direction to head in and then though of Libby. Thursday she posted another From Courtney's Closet challenge so I figured I'd go with that--despite the lack of a picture with me that moment or any details written down. And I don't think I had seen the picture since Saturday morning! I really thought her dress had purple in it, not rust. Oh well. Either way, I love my card and can picture Courtney having a tea pary with a friend. Rather than sticking with the Mojo sketch's scalloped square, I pulled out a needle and some embroidery thread and stitched around my main panel--it was easier than setting the sewing machine up!
Thanks for stopping by....I've got lots more stamping in my summer vacation future.

Paper: Certainly Celery, Brocade Blue, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum
Ink: Perfect Plum, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Pale Plum
Stamps: Organic Grace (SU), unknown SU, Mary Engelbright
Other: ribbon, glue dots, DMC ecru embroidery floss,

  1. Gosh, this is cute--I haven't done a Courtney challenge in a while, or a Mojo I think! Love the stitching!

  2. Wow, I love the stitching! This card must have taken some time. Mary Engelbright is a favorite of mine. I am going to a Stampin Up workshop tomorrow. I think I am going to buy all six sets of paper in 8 1/2 x 11 so I have all the pretty colors you have. I love your card.
So you don't get time to pack your classroom up either? I always have to go back.

  3. Wow Caryl this is soooo pretty..the stitching is just great.

  4. Wowzers Caryl - this is too darn cute! I love the teacups for the embellishments! And that stitching? You are like a domestic goddess or something!!! Great job on the challenge!

  5. Oh, and Happy Vacation!!! So happy that you are finished for a while. Can't wait to see what beauties you create when you actually have some time on your hands!

  6. Good for you! Great card for Mojo Monday! BR-T

  7. Beautiful card Caryl! Love the papers and colors. The teacup embellishments really are cute! Great job!

  8. Love it! Nice work and a good beginning to your well deserved summer. Enjoy it :-)

  9. Very pretty! And I'm impressed by the hand stitching! I know what you mean about the sewing machine. I have the same time-consuming issue of pulling mine out, finding a big enough clean space on my desk to set it up, threading it, etc before I could even begin to sew. That's why I never do it.

Of course... Melky Cabrara! I should have guessed that. I'm still surprised that you are a Yankee fan in the heart of Red Sox Nation. Are you a native NH girl?

  10. Caryl I just love your card, it's so pretty and the teapots & cups are so cute! Adding purple was a great addition in my opinion, I love purple!! Thanks sooooo much for playing!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, they always make my day. I love to get feedback and would love to visit your blog too!
