Vacation mojo

Finally, vacation has arrived!!! Of course I was in my classroom, but not early and all by myself so that counts as vacation to me. And I finally got to play along with the Mojo Monday sketch for the first time in a few weeks.

I didn't know what direction to head in and then though of Libby. Thursday she posted another From Courtney's Closet challenge so I figured I'd go with that--despite the lack of a picture with me that moment or any details written down. And I don't think I had seen the picture since Saturday morning! I really thought her dress had purple in it, not rust. Oh well. Either way, I love my card and can picture Courtney having a tea pary with a friend. Rather than sticking with the Mojo sketch's scalloped square, I pulled out a needle and some embroidery thread and stitched around my main panel--it was easier than setting the sewing machine up!
Thanks for stopping by....I've got lots more stamping in my summer vacation future.

  2. Wow, I love the stitching! This card must have taken some time. Mary Engelbright is a favorite of mine. I am going to a Stampin Up workshop tomorrow. I think I am going to buy all six sets of paper in 8 1/2 x 11 so I have all the pretty colors you have. I love your card.
So you don't get time to pack your classroom up either? I always have to go back.

  9. Very pretty! And I'm impressed by the hand stitching! I know what you mean about the sewing machine. I have the same time-consuming issue of pulling mine out, finding a big enough clean space on my desk to set it up, threading it, etc before I could even begin to sew. That's why I never do it.

Of course... Melky Cabrara! I should have guessed that. I'm still surprised that you are a Yankee fan in the heart of Red Sox Nation. Are you a native NH girl?
